Fried chicken is so popular that the Philippines even have its own fried chicken brand. It’s also a dream food that some poor Filipinos can’t afford in real life. Low-income earners can only eat chicken bones with bits of meat left. This kind of food from organic waste is called in Tagalog “Pagpag”. Even if it is not hygienic and dangerous to health, it’s the only way to survive for many poor people in the slums of the Philippines.
