Huge “scam compounds” have been built across Myanmar’s border with Thailand under the watch of the country’s reviled military rulers. The gangs responsible target often vulnerable victims with online fraud, with their vast operations using trafficked workers who are beaten and tortured if they refuse to carry out the scams. C4 have an exclusive report exposing this vicious form of international organised crime that is raking in billions a year from people from across the world, including Britain.
