Skies Above Hebron is a powerful coming-of-age documentary that follows the lives of three Palestinian boys—Amer, Anas, and Marwaan—over five years as they navigate adolescence in the ancient, conflict-ridden city of Hebron in the occupied West Bank. The film highlights their challenges and dreams amidst a backdrop of continuous surveillance by Israeli settlers and soldiers. While brothers Amer and Anas find a measure of escape and freedom by raising pigeons on their rooftop, Marwaan, who lives near a major Israeli settlement, actively resists human rights violations by filming conflicts, showing how each boy copes differently with the mental and physical obstacles that constantly curtail their freedom.
