First Steps in Gaza: 1,500 Child Amputees Need Our Help. 🦾

In Khan Younis, a city in Gaza, there is a small bit of hope in the middle of a very hard time. Because of the long conflict, thousands of people—including many children—have lost their legs or arms. Right now, there is a shaky break in the fighting called a ceasefire. During this quiet time, new clinics are helping kids and adults get fitted with "magic" new legs called prosthetics. These are often made using 3D printers. For a displaced child who has spent months in a tent, taking that first step on a new limb is a huge win for their "Sovereign Spirit." It means they can finally play and walk again.

But life is still very difficult and scary. Even though there is a ceasefire, it isn't perfect, and people are worried the fighting might start again. Also, as of today, January 1, 2026, some new rules are making it hard for aid groups to bring in the parts and doctors needed to fix these new legs. Over 1,500 children in Gaza are now amputees, which is a very sad world record. These kids are showing the world how to be brave, but they need the "Medical Artery" of help to stay open so they can keep walking toward a better future.
