The age of personal air travel is officially taking flight as China’s XPeng AeroHT opens the world’s first intelligent flying car factory, signaling a huge leap toward mass production. This 120,000-square-meter facility in Guangzhou is engineered to churn out one detachable eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) aircraft module every 30 minutes at full capacity, aiming for an annual output of up to 10,000 units.

The debut model, the "Land Aircraft Carrier," is an innovative two-part system: a six-wheeled, road-legal ground vehicle that acts as a "mothership" and a two-seater aerial module it transports and recharges. Priced under 2 million yuan (approximately $281,000), this modular design targets individual consumers, promising both manual and one-touch autonomous flight to easily bypass traffic jams, with mass deliveries anticipated to begin in 2026. This development places China at the forefront of the global urban air mobility race.
