A compilation of reports on the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War and the parallel Bangladesh War of Independence (also known as the Bangladesh Liberation War), beginning in November 1971, two weeks before the start of hostilities between India and Pakistan, and ending in January 1972, six weeks after Pakistani capitulation marked the end of East Pakistan and the beginning of Bangladesh.

The reports capture a number of key turning points in the conflict, including the dramatic fall of Dhaka (Dacca) on 16 December 1971, the ceremony of Pakistani surrender on 19 December 1971, and the release of Bangladesh's first Prime Minister, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, from Pakistani captivity in January 1972. As well as featuring footage of frontline fighting, the reports include interviews with several historic personalities including Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Mujibur Rahman; John Kelly, representative of the United Nations High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR); India's Envoy to Bangladesh, Durgha Prasad Dhar; and a number of Indian and Pakistani military officers.
